About the Program
Do You Need a Mentor?
The IPA has a Mentoring Program that was established in 2001 as a benefit to its members. The program is coordinated by, and made up of, IPA members who volunteer their time.
The program is open to IPA members who are employed as paralegals and meet at least one of the following eligibility requirements:
- Recent graduate
- New to Illinois
- Recent change of specialty area
How It Works
What to Expect
01
Three-Month Pairing
IPA members are assigned to a mentor for a three-month period to help answer questions regarding their specialty area, the paralegal profession, work experiences and more. It is also a great opportunity to network and communicate.
02
One Mentor per Mentee
We can only assign one mentor per mentee.
03
Guidance, Not Placement
This is not a placement service or job training service. Mentors share their experiences, but they do not recruit or give legal advice.
